Indian Pavilion, 54th Venice Biennale, 2011

The Indian Pavilion was located in the Arsenale. It was shared by 4 artists; Zarina Hashmi, Praneet Soi, Gigi Scaria and The Desire Machine Collective.

I create a an L shaped wall, 24 metres in all and 3.5 metres high and placed it at an angle to the existing architecture. Upon this wall the mural was composed in situ. I carried with me my archive of drawings and new ones had to be made as well. Images that have become a part of my lexicon were engaged with.

I placed a part of my archive, printouts on transparent acetate sheets, on a desk near the wall. This allowed
viewers to partake of the process.
